The stationary cone must be toward the center of the garage door while the winding cone must be toward the outside of the door.
How to install a single garage door spring.
Hook the garage door spring onto door track bracket.
Set top door panel in place and secure it with hinge screws.
Slide the spring that you placed on the left side of the door at the beginning onto the shaft as shown.
You may need to loosen the set screws for the spring to slide onto the shaft.
Disconnect the garage door opener so the door remains closed.
Release the tension on side mounted extension springs by lifting the door and locking it in place on each side with a pair of locking pliers.
Secure cable end to bracket.
